This recipe for quinoa porridge is adapted from a book called Vegan Soul Kitchen. There are plenty of variations around the internet, but this one works for us. It serves two.

Another month of good eats

Thanks for all the encouragement/hatemail requesting that I post more regularly. I have two solutions: the first is that I’m in the process of putting all my Metro reviews up here on the blog; I have half a dozen almost ready to go live, and from now on they’ll appear here a couple of months after the magazine hits newsstands. In terms of fresh material, here’s a little round up of what I’ve been eating lately:

Easy, tasty food

I’ve already got a few emails about my aglio e olio recipe mentioned in the previous blogpost, so here it is. I learnt this in a little restaurant called La Locanda, in a dusty little town called Ceglie Messapica (pictured), in a little part of Italy called Puglia.

AFB in Hamilton

I grew up in Hamilton, a city much mocked for its lack of nightlife and surfeit of communicable diseases, but which actually has quite a bit to do at night time and many infection-free sexing opportunities. Someone once called Hamilton ‘the chlamydia capital of New Zealand’ and unfortunately it went viral, so to speak. Now you can’t even mention that you’re visiting the place without some numbskull telling you to make sure you wear a condom, which is rich advice indeed coming from someone who is the product of their deadbeat, half-pissed father forgetting to do the very same.
